Meet the Dyer

Hi! I'm Katy, the dyer behind Hummingbird Yarn. I live in the beautiful Northwoods of Northern Minnesota and a lot of my inspiration comes from the beauty around me. I love living here, (including...especially? the winter!) and have been inspired to share some of my favorite things with you, through the yarn I dye. 

Each skein is dyed to order! With hand dyed yarn, there is a lot of variation, even if they were dyed together in the same dyelot.  I recommend alternating skeins as you go to avoid an obvious transition line.  

I wash each skein to remove excess dye, however some bleeding may occur.  Please wash separately or with like colors for the first few washes. 

Screens depict color slightly differently-please be aware that colors in person and from screen to screen may vary slightly.
